The Role
Develop secure, cloud-native applications supporting the CAEIO program, from database schema and backend services through production user interfaces. This full-time, permanent opportunity is based in Suitland, Maryland, with 2–3 days on-site per week. Active TS/SCI is required, and an immediate start is preferred. Support an existing platform while building pilot solutions and custom MVPs across AWS partitions and classification levels.

What You Bring
Active TS/SCI required
5+ years of hands-on development experience, or equivalent demonstrated capability
Strong Python backend development using Django, FastAPI, or equivalent, including async/ASGI and modern Python 3.13+
Production frontend development using React, Next.js, or equivalent; demonstrate complete applications, not only prototypes
RESTful API design, Backend-for-Frontend patterns, and schema validation, including Pydantic-driven validation
PostgreSQL schema design, query optimization, migrations, and data loading
AWS application deployment, operations, and troubleshooting across classified partitions and regions; familiarity with EKS, Aurora, S3, IAM, VPC, and KMS
Terraform module development and maintenance
Authentication integration using Keycloak, OIDC, SAML, or CAC/PIV; understanding of JWT, role-based access control, and secure token handling
Secure development for STIG-hardened, FIPS-validated environments, including secrets management and least privilege
GitLab CI/CD pipelines and Git workflows
Interpretation and remediation of SAST, DAST, SCA, SBOM, and container-scanning findings
Daily AI-assisted development experience, with an understanding of tool limitations and applicable security requirements
Strong ownership, communication, attention to detail, and ability to work independently
Available for a hybrid schedule in Suitland, MD, with 2–3 days on-site per week; immediate start preferred
Preferred: RAG pipelines, LLM integration, or embedding-based search; legacy application and data migration
Preferred: Kubernetes/EKS and Helm; hardened container supply chains and FIPS-validated image pipelines
Preferred: practical application of NIST 800-53 controls; multi-classification or cross-partition deployments
Preferred: intelligence community and DoD mission-system experience
